Don’t Waste Space in Your Envelopes

Using today’s latest technology in the form of software and mail inserters you can optimise the amount of content inside your envelope thus saving on extra mailings and of course money. One typical example may be a business that raises a number of invoices for the same customer during the day or the week. Traditionally they may have placed these individual invoices in separate envelopes as they were printed and then paid the appropriate postal charges. If the same business was to hold off printing until the end of the day or week they could use mail processing software to sort through all of their invoices and, where they are going to the same customer, place them in the same envelope. Not only does this save the business money through reduced postage and use of less envelopes, it also looks more professional.

Some businesses carry out marketing campaigns aimed at existing customers. These are often self-contained campaigns coordinated by the marketing department. If coordination was to encompass the mailroom then marketing literature could be added to envelopes already destined to existing customers. These envelopes may, for example, be containing the customer’s latest invoices or statements. These campaigns can even be targeted based on products the customer has bought or used. Targeted campaigns like this are easy through use of software to read the print output from a business’ invoice system and through use of a mailing machine with selective feed insert stations.
