The Benefits of Intelligent Mail

As I am sure you see from your own doormat, there are a multitude of different styles of mailing, from a single sheet mailing, all the way through to a thickly packed envelope. Different markets often require different types of mailing, but just because a business has always done something one way, does not make it the best way. Often it is possible to reanalyse the content of a mailing a working which items are not really required. Using modern intelligent mailing machines such as those manufactured by PFE, it is now possible to only insert items into an envelope when they are required and would be useful to the recipient. For example, if a customer of builders merchant always bought bricks there could be a inserted item about bricks, whereas a customer that always buys windows could receive an inserted item about windows instead. The business saves money and the customer is more likely to read the entire content of the envelope because it is relevant to them.

There are now three predominant ways to pay for you mailing. The first traditional method is to add a stamp on to each envelope. The second is to use a franking machine to add a frank mark on to each envelope, and the third is to open an account with a postal provider such as Royal Mail. This third method is by far the cheapest as it does not have the expense of a franking machine and has a tariff that is cheaper that that of stamps. In addition to this the accounts method usually allows payment in arrears which can be very good for a business’ cash flow.
