|
|
Hi all,
Does such a machine exist that will take plain A4 paper and DL/C5 envelopes and print both (single colour plus black) then fold and insert? Ideally with a couple of stations for inserts. Nothing flash for the printing just company logo and text - same with envelope.
If so how expensive would such a piece of kit be?
Thanks in advance, Mike _________________ Postal Services Consultant

I remember reading about a machine called Mail Printer. See link below.
http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/1813/kyocera-mailprinter-mpwgp.html
The cost seems to be £7,250 but this was back in 1999. Seems very expensive to me. I would imagine there has been some movement in this as it is almost 10 years.
I know that it prints the a4 sheets of paper, but I am not sure if it prints the envelope. I think it does. Also allows for an insert. |

Thanks Fred - the machine looks useful but expensive! The solution I was looking for was a higher capacity but, in view of the cost of this unit, such a machine may well prove to be too much of an expense.
Worth keeping up to date with these development though. Thanks again, Mike _________________ Postal Services Consultant

| This machine looks really interesting. But I can't believe the price. I would like to see something like this but at least half the price. It would be very useful. |

Trouble is the market for this type of machine is low enough to ensure the price remains close to the RRP so we are unlikely to see huge discounts. I tried a quick Google search but it is hard enough to even find someone to stock it let alone see enough competition to drive the prices down. _________________ Postal Services Consultant

I may be wrong on this, but I think that PFE withdue the manufacture of this machine as the cost to manufacture was too high.
They were never able to get enough sales to bring in economies of scale. However the ones that were sold made it to very interesting customers including the United States Senate and the British Armed Forces.
