Many companies have policies in place dealing with carbon footprint and so on but have you ever wondered what impact post has?
Maybe not!! But in case this keeps you awake at night there is a good article from the Guardian that covers the topic. It might be useful if you are ever asked for the implications of mailing.

The best way to be kind to the environment is to use email for everything, but then we would all be out of a job.

Thanks Fred,
Best keep that one to ourselves for now
Email has an obvious role to play but, thankfully, hard copy and traditional post will be with us for some time to come.
Personally, the two work well together - for instance I like to keep up with football news via the BBC Gossip page every day but always prefer a magazine or newspaper when the occasion allows. This needs to be applies to uses of the post - use DM for a message for impact but reinforce it with email follow up (if you have permission) and so on. _________________ Postal Services Consultant

Our business have launched a service which creates mail closer to the letterbox it is going through. Therefore, cuts down the van/ truck journey of the letter.
It also removes the need for physical sortation by the Downstream access companies.
Therefore avoiding, e.g. West London enveloping, Croydon sortation machine back to Royal Mail Inbound Mail Centre, in west London through letterbox.
Only avaiable in Scotland for the moment. |

We have a scheme to help with offsetting called Toptree.
Initially conceived to offset paper usage (we're a print firm at heart) we've planted almost 80,000 trees so far.
Toptree's due to be made available on Docmail products in the near future.
