New Zealand Post Group have announced that their services are now operating as normal in the quake-affected areas in Canterbury.
This speedy recovery is mainly down to the resourcefulness of the NZ Post staff. Joe Cannon, manager in charge of Christchurch Mail Centre which, for safety reasons, shut down immediately following the earthquake, said the attitude of staff has been impressive.
"Several of our people have been badly affected by the quake, but we had a great turnout today as they were conscious that the mail had to be processed. They knew they had to get the job done".
Only postal services to areas of Christchurch that have had their access restricted are now still affected.
All other NZ Post services, including courier services are operational.
