Postal kiosks which will significantly cut queuing times and offer customers a choice of service at the Regent Street branch of Isle of Man Post Office have successfully come into operation.

The two Pay & Post machines have been introduced following a consultation with customers and are aimed at providing an improved experience within the branch, with reduced queuing times, quicker transactions and self-service weighing positions.

Marty Quine, General Manager Retail Network, Isle of Man Post Office said:

"I am delighted that these self-service kiosks are up and running for customers to use. I am sure they will find the touch screen operation very simple and quick and will enjoy having the option to use either the kiosk or traditional counter clerk service. The kiosks are about meeting customer requests for a modern way of transacting business in the retail world."

Customers can now weigh and pay for packages to be posted quickly and efficiently in a matter of seconds using the automated kiosk, as well being able to pay electricity, gas or phone bills and government rates.

Customer Karen Dawson, of Douglas, uses Regent Street Post Office on a daily basis and says the kiosks have made a big difference.

"I use the post office everyday to buy postage and in the past I have had to queue just to buy some stamps. However with these new kiosks, I can be in and out within a matter of minutes, they have saved me so much time, they’re brilliant."

The kiosks boast the latest technology and have been developed by both Integrex, one of the UK's foremost providers of electronic and IT solutions to the retail, education and business sectors and Escher Group, a leading provider of distributed messaging and data management solutions and services.
