Royal Mail are introducing some changes to the presentation requirements for unbagged and unwrapped mailings. These changes come into effect from 1st December 2010.
The changes will apply to all customers who use Mailsort 1400, Presstream, Walksort, Presstream , or Walksort.
Full details can be found at the Mailsort Technical website and will be in the Mailsort User Guide, Chapter 2 from 1st December 2010.
The key changes are that unbagged and unwrapped options will be permitted for mailmedia® Creative. Royal Mail are also removing the requirement for customers to give four weeks advance notice of unwrapped or unbagged postings. Customers will no longer need to gain Royal Mail's prior agreement to send an unbagged or unwrapped posting however, forecasting requirements as per their our T’s & C’s will remain.
Royal Mail are also, for the first time. allowing items in an unwrapped or unbagged posting to be of different sizes.
The minimum size for unbagged or unwrapped items will be reduced to B6 (125mm x 176mm) and the maximum size for unbagged and unwrapped items will be increased to C3 (324mm x 458mm).
