Christmas is coming and it will not wait for anyone. If like me you have friends or relatives in New Zealand you will need to start thinking about sending your Christmas cards and presents sooner rather than later.
The last recommended date for posting surface mail to New Zealand is already long gone, back near the beginning of October (far to early to be thinking about Christmas back then), but don't worry, there is still time to send you Christmas cards and presents using Royal Mail's Airmail service. The last recommended date for sending items to be in New Zealand in time for Christmas is 5th of December.
But that's not long I hear you say. I agree, but it's a challenge that I have had to meet for a number of years now. Last year I did cheat by actually going over to New Zealand for Christmas. I was then able to take the items with me. Luckily I didn't even have to pay excess baggage.
If you do miss the Royal Mail last recommended post date, and are not going to New Zealand yourself then you can send your presents using a courier service such as DHL but even with these services you only get an extra week, and of course they are far more expensive than Royal Mail.
Major Postal destinations that are also Sharing their last airmail post date of 5th December 2011 are:
Australia
India
Singapore
New Zealand
Happy Christmas.
