A Pitney Bowes InfoTrends survey has announced that the recession is prompting companies to outsource or enter into partnerships in an effort make savings.
Participants of the survey also said that they had every intention to increase their outsourcing spending.
The increased interest in forging working partnerships was also an attempt by companies to increase their share of the market and capitalise on the specialist knowledge of experts.
Vincent de Palma, executive vice president and president, PBMS, commented: "While managing cost and risk remain top-of-mind for all organisations, especially in light of the current recessionary environment, businesses are beginning to realise now more than ever, the cost and efficiency benefits of managed or outsourced services that can be realised by partnering with the right outsourcing partner."
He added that outsourcing enables companies to increase productivity and efficiency without having to invest further in personnel or equipment.
Earlier this month (July 1st), Pitney Bowes was included in a list of the top 40 most diverse companies, compiled by Black Enterprise magazine.
