Royal Mail has condemned the latest strike action that has been called by the Communication Workers' Union (CWU).
This Friday will see postal workers walking out over job cuts and modernisation plans on July 19th.
However, the mailing company has said that on the day that industrial action has been planned, 90 per cent of its employees will be delivering letters, parcels and packages.
The company added that just ten per cent of its offices were expected to be affected by the strike.
It continued that the CWU was undermining the company's attempts to increase efficiency and in light of a ten per cent drop in mailing volumes.
Lord Mandelson, the Secretary of State, claimed that the union is "essentially boycotting the agreed processes for making change in the Royal Mail".
In other news, Royal Mail is struggling to resolve the issue of the huge pensions deficit plaguing the company.
