Royal Mail is looking to seal a £120 million contract by finding a supplier to overhaul its internet operations.

In what is seen as an intelligent mailing development, the company wishes to appoint a partner that will be responsible for changing Royal Mail's e-business division.

The supplier, which will also be involved in systems integration, will offer design, development, hosting and ongoing operational services.

A contract posting published on the Official Journal of the European Union says that bids must be received for the five-year contract by June 25th.

Spending on the project, Royal Mail added, is dependent on macroeconomic factors in addition to further business priorities.

In other news, the postal group recently unveiled its Safety Concept Vehicle, which it says "marks a significant step forward" in heavy goods vehicle safety.

The new truck, which has received an impressive safety rating from NCAP, was developed by Royal Mail alongside manufacturers DAF and Cartwright.ADNFCR-1606-ID-19193710-ADNFCR
